Sunny teaches reading and math to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Underneath is the part that took the longest to get right: a structured system that decides what gets taught, checks everything the AI writes, and holds it to the standards a classroom would.

01 / Why Sunny
AI can explain anything, and be wrong about it with exactly the same confidence. For an adult, that's an inconvenience. For a seven-year-old learning subtraction for the first time, a wrong answer delivered warmly is worse than no answer at all.

02 / How Sunny works
Sunny treats the AI as one part of a larger system, not the whole thing. Every lesson passes through a series of deliberate steps before a student ever sees it.
A structured map of what students should learn, grade by grade, aligned to published educational standards. Sunny chooses the next skill; the AI never decides what school looks like.
The answer to every problem, and the steps to get there, are worked out before the AI is asked for a single word. Accuracy isn't something we hope for; it's settled before the lesson is written.
Everything the AI writes is reviewed against the standards for that student's grade before it's shown. Anything that falls short is sent back with the reason, and redone until it passes.
Lessons about the real world are built from vetted source material rather than the AI's memory, so a student exploring a favorite subject gets something new, and true, every time.
Anything a student types is screened before a lesson is written, with the bar set for their age. Safety comes before the writing, not after it.
Sunny measures mastery by what a student keeps, not by a lucky streak of right answers, and brings skills back for practice right when a little review does the most good. Knowing something on Friday isn't the same as still knowing it in March.
03 / Built to last
Sunny isn't built around any one AI. It already teaches reading and math with different AI behind the scenes, all held to the same standards, so when better AI arrives it's an upgrade for students, not a fresh start for us.
The curriculum, the safety standards, the checking, and everything we've learned about how students actually learn are the parts we built ourselves, and they're the parts that last. Every time AI gets better, students get lessons explained a little more clearly. Nothing starts over.
The same Sunny, whichever AI is inside
Better AI comes in. The teaching stays.
Sunny isn't tied to any one AI. When a better one comes along, it slots right in, and everything students rely on stays exactly where it was.
Before any new AI gets to teach a student, it has to meet the same standards as the one it's replacing. No surprises, no backsliding.
The curriculum, the checking, and the safety are ours, and they keep getting better year after year, no matter what AI is inside.
04 / For families
All of that structure exists so that what students actually meet can be simple: someone who's glad to see them, happy to explain things a second and a third way, and never runs out of patience.

Reading built around what a student is genuinely curious about, and math pitched right at the edge of what they can already do. Hard enough to be worth doing, never so hard it's discouraging.

A clear, friendly view of what your student is working on and where they're genuinely growing. Students see encouragement and progress; the numbers stay where they belong, with you.
